Sultanahmet:
At this district which is located at the western point of the historical peninsula, important religious, managerial and civil structures exist.The Sultanahmet Square is surrounded by Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofia, Sultan Ahmet Camii (the Blue Mosque), the Hippodrome, Kapali Carsi (Covered Market), Yerebatan Sarnici and the Museum of Islamic Art.
Ortakoy:
Ortaköy which was a resort for the Ottoman rulers because of its attractive location on the Bosphorus, has been always an interesting settling.Today it is located in the triangle of a mosque, church and synagogue, and is near Ciragan Palace, Kabatas High School, Feriye, Princess Hotel.Ortaköy is an entertainment and shopping center with
its bazaars,gift shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
Sariyer:
The first sight of Sar?yer is where the Bosphorus connects with the Black Sea, after the bend in the river after Tarabya.From this area to the interior of the city old summer houses, embassies and fish restaurants are arranged in order.A narrow road which seperate from Buyukdere reaches Black Sea ssores and famous Kilyos beaches after passing a forest.
Sariyer and Rumeli Kavagi are the last quays for the visitors who visit the bosphorus with steamship.These two districts are famous with fish restaurants and Anadolu Kavagi is very crowded at weekends.
After these points, the Bosphorus is lined with tree-covered cliffs.The Sadberk Hanim Museum is an interesting place to visit; a collection of archaeological and ethnographic items, housed in two wooden houses. A few kilometres away is the huge Belgrade Forest, once a haunting ground of the Ottomans, and now a popular weekend promenade.
Uskudar:
Uskudar acquired fame with Kiz Kulesi and it is the quay to pass Europe side.The 16th century mosques at the square, memorial fountain, miniature Semsi Pasa Mosque and Medrese are the beautiful samples of art.Historical Karacaahmet Graveyard and big and small Camlica Hills are at the back of Uskuder.The hills are coveerd with pines.
