Tokatli Church :It is the biggest rocky church of the Goreme Valley. It is formed of four places ; Tek Nefli Church, New Church, the church under the old church and the front chapel. The old church dates back the eralies of X. century. There are descriptions of different subjects ; saint designs, evangel , visit, proof of virginity, voyage to Beytullahim, birth, worship of three astrologer,
massacre of innocent children, hell visit of Jesus,Jesus's ascend to heaven etc.
There is red and blue colours used for descriptions at the new church.
Monastery of Monks and Nuns : The 6-7 storeyed rocky mass is known as " Monastery of Nuns" on the left of the entrance of Goreme Open Air Museum. The mess ,kitchen and some rooms at the first floor and the ruined chapel at the second floor are att the visitable conditions. The church at the 3. floor (is reached by a tunnel) , has a crossed dome ,four columns and three abscissas. There is red adornaments near the fresco of Jesus on the rock.
St. Basil Chapel :It is at the entrance of Goreme Open Air Museum. It dates back XI. century.There are Mother Mary portreit, child Jesus, Saint Theodore and Saint George on the horse descriptions.
Elmali Church :It is asimple planned church .There are geometrical adorns of iconalastic period under the frescos.
There are secenes of the life of Jesus at the frescos.
Baptism of Jesus, crucify, change ,last dinner, revival of Lazarus are main subjects. There are descriptions of saints and some prophets at the columns, column capitals and architectural pieces. The frescos date back II. century.
Cavusin Church :It is 2.5 km from Goreme. Its nartex which has three abscissa ,is demolished . This church was constructed in the name of Emperor Nicephorus Phocas, between 964 - 965.
Yilanli Church : It is at the Goreme Open Air Museum.The church where descriptions of respected saints exist, dates back XI. century.Some descriptions are ;Jesus with the Bible, Saint Onesimus, saint George struggling with dragon, Saint Onuphirus nude and long haired.
Karanlik Church : It is at the Goreme Open Air Museum. The church takes light from the small window at the nartex so it is known as Dark Church. The consruction is decorated with frescos completely. These frescos are the ones in the best conditions , in the region. Some description subjects are ;angles protecting the tomb of Jesus, crucify, caught of Jesus, revival, last dinner with 12 apostles, Jesus with for saint who wrote the Bible ,birth of Jesus and baptism of Jesus etc.
